Harness These Four Energies To Transform Your Life

No matter where you are born or what your culture is, as men, we have access to four very powerful masculine energies or archetypes.

These energies are primordial and universal. They are part of our DNA. We men are complex beings, so there is a need to create an awareness around these four energies – to bring them into balance so we can gain access to our authentic masculine self.

Most modern males are disempowered – they are unaware of these four archetypes and therefore don’t know how to use them to their advantage.

So many men are struggling these days; more than 25% of men are getting divorced, 50% have erectile dysfunction, 30% have premature ejaculation, 33% are addicted to porn, 13% are depressed and 12% are suicidal. Not to mention the amount of men suffering in silence with mental issues such as stress, anxiety and overwhelm.

When you become aware and conscious of what these archetypes are, how they apply to your life, and what areas need more attention, you’ll be able to start to shift and transform your career, health and relationships.

These four energies are the the Warrior, the Lover, the King and the Mystic.

Men are typically very strong in one or two of these areas and relatively weak in the others – the trick is to bring them all into balance.

Let’s briefly examine them:

The King energy is the most important of the four – without the King, you have chaos in the land (in this case, the land is the realm of your life).

The King has a clear vision and purpose of what he wants his life to look like – he stays focused and on track. He stays true to this vision no matter what.

This enables the King to establish well-defined goals and clarity in his work, relationships, health and spirituality.

While the King has fears and is not perfect, he loves and accepts this shadow side of himself. He doesn’t blame others and takes full responsibility when things don’t work out.

The King is calm and creative – he is the provider. The King also cares about others and is a man of integrity. He is more concerned about looking inside versus outside and accessing his true authentic self.

Without a strong King energy in your life, you may find yourself struggling. To harness the King energy, the first step is to get really clear on what you want your life to look like – have a strong vision or purpose. To support this, you will then need the assistance of the Warrior energy.

The Warrior is the part of us that makes it happen. He is confident, disciplined, and in control.

It’s the part of us that transcends fears, harnesses our capabilities and helps us live to our full potential.

The Warrior keeps us moving forward, even with the chips are down. It gets back up when knocked down. It stands up to challenges, obstacles and defeats our inner demons.

The Warrior is a strong communicator, leads by example and his intelligence comes from the intuition he listens to from his heart and from the Mystic, which we’ll get to in a moment.

The Warrior takes control of life and is ready to seize the day. He does not blame anyone for his fate in life and does not get caught up in any victim drama. He uses life’s bruises as learning experiences.

The Warrior archetype gets a bad rap as many stereotypically think it makes men act out in rage or be violent, like the bullied politician or the male with suppressed anger who erupt like volcanoes and create dictatorships within their worlds. This is the weak side of the Warrior energy.

The Warrior, when in balance, is actually the opposite of human rage. Instead, this primarily masculine archetype revolves around courage, discipline and being devoted to a cause greater than his own personal survival.

The Warrior that is in balance learns to channel that rage into something positive.

If you need more Warrior energy consider taking up archery, a martial art, or train for an obstacle race like a Tough Mudder or Spartan race – these are all excellent ways to harness the Warrior inside of us.

The Mystic – this is what guides the Warrior and King energies. Think of it as the one who knows how to sit and be and listen to that inner GPS or intuition. The Mystic is the guide or navigator to your King archetype.

While the King is planning and the Warrior is taking care of business, the Mystic is accessing the magic of the universe and advising the King on what is his next best move.

The Mystic is the one who teaches us to watch our thoughts and not be a slave to our chattering minds. The Mystic knows how to access the heart and is very intuitive. He is wise like a Jedi or Seer.

The Mystic has learned how to really feel and has worked through all of the drama, pain, and trauma in his life.

Without a strong Mystic energy the King is lost. To access the Mystic, we need to keep unlearning and learning and growing, and to spend more time just sitting and doing nothing rather than always keeping busy with an activity. Spend time in solitude and reflect on where you are and where you want to go in your life.

The Lover energy is the one that enjoys all of life. It is the softer side of the four archetypes however just as important as the other three – what’s the point of having a vision, purpose and not enjoying it?!

The Lover lets his guard down and tells the Warrior when it’s time to chill out and enjoy, connect and find beauty in the world around us.

Our Lover enjoys a nice looking car, fine whiskey and appreciates the beauty of women, inside and out.

The Lover has learned to let go and take his hands off the reins of life and embrace the unknown.
He has taken the time to learn how to access his deep emotions and expresses them fully.

The Lover has a healthy sex life and lives with passion. The Lover has learned to control his sexual energy and treats women with respect, honor and is a true gentleman.

Getting in touch with our Lover means we have to be vulnerable, we need to get out of our heads and back into our bodies.

To access your Lover, sing, dance, and play – make slow love to your partner. Enjoy the fruits of your labor, do things that you enjoy. Make sure to have some down time – life is dull with all work and no play!

Our Lover energy thrives in nature, so spend more time outside.

The key to harnessing the energies of these four archetypes is to spend a bit of time every acknowledging them within your own self, and reflecting on which energy you need to work on.
